Building Services Manager

About the role

Kier is seeking a Building Services Manager to join its Solihull team. You will act as the in‑house subject‑matter expert for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (M&E) services, guiding projects from tender through to commissioning. The role involves close collaboration with project teams, supply‑chain partners, clients and designers to deliver high‑quality building services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and advice to bid teams and project leaders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the selection, appointment and performance of specialist subcontractors to meet Kier standards.
• Coordinate M&E services with design teams and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Oversee the commissioning process and ensure completion of as‑built and maintenance manuals.
• Review technical submittals and devise solutions to emerging challenges during construction.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of M&E design and modern mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline (NVQ/HND/HNC/CIBSE).
• Experience in a main contracting environment managing specialist subcontract partners.
• Delivered large building services packages valued at £5 million+ across the full project lifecycle.
• Holder of SMSTS, CSCS card and a full UK driving licence.
