Building Services Technician (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Technician to support a well‑established Further Education college in London on a temporary basis. You will work closely with lecturers and students to ensure practical sessions run smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare workshops, tools, equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Assist lecturers and learners during hands‑on sessions.
• Maintain, service and troubleshoot specialist equipment and resources.
• Manage stock levels, order supplies and ensure availability of materials.
• Ensure workshops and learning environments comply with health and safety regulations.
• Carry out routine maintenance, housekeeping and general upkeep of facilities.
• Support curriculum delivery across Building Services programmes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Building Services, facilities, maintenance or a related technical field.
• Relevant vocational qualifications in Building Services or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to supporting learners and maintaining high standards.
