Building Services Technician – Workshop Support

About the role

The Building Services Technician will support the Building Services curriculum in East London by ensuring workshops are safe, tidy and fully equipped for practical teaching sessions. This is a temporary, full‑time position working 36 hours per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain tools, materials and equipment required for building services courses.
• Monitor stock levels of pipes, cables, fittings and fixtures and replenish as needed.
• Keep workshops clean, safe and ready for practical sessions.
• Assist tutors during hands‑on teaching and provide technical guidance.
• Promote good student behaviour in practical environments.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and attend departmental meetings.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety and equality policies.
• Engage in professional development and obtain first‑aider qualification if required.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a vocational discipline, preferably plumbing or electrical.
• Recent industry experience in building services or related trades.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Good IT proficiency.
