Building Supervisor – Residential Property

About the role

The Building Supervisor will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and presentation of a residential block in East London. This permanent, full‑time position ensures the building remains safe, clean and well‑maintained for residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting and fire‑safety systems.
• Report and coordinate maintenance work via the help‑desk system.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and presentation of communal areas.
• Monitor security equipment including CCTV, alarms and access controls.
• Serve as first point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors.
• Arrange and supervise external contractors and maintenance projects.
• Manage stock levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Support health‑and‑safety compliance, fire‑safety procedures and building inspections.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Building Supervisor, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant or similar role.
• Proven ability to oversee cleaning standards and basic maintenance inspections.
• Strong customer‑service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
