Building Surveyor – Property Services

About the role

TristoneNash is recruiting a Building Surveyor to join a leading housing provider’s Property Services team in the South West of England. The role involves managing a varied programme of capital projects and lease‑hold works, combining technical surveying, contract management and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake site inspections and quality control checks at key project milestones.
• Carry out weekly Health & Safety inspections in line with CDM duties.
• Identify building defects and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Produce work schedules and technical specifications for tender.
• Manage contractors, including contract administration and progress meetings.
• Process final valuations, contractor variations and purchase orders.
• Monitor project quality, programme and budget to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of building construction, fabric and components.
• Experience diagnosing building defects and specifying remedial works.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Experience preparing specifications and tender documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

• Salary of £45,230 per year.
