Bureau Payroll Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bureau Payroll Administrator to join a respected accountancy practice in Truro. You will manage a portfolio of client payrolls, providing a professional and compliant service while enjoying a supportive, well‑being‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls from start to finish for multiple clients.
• Process new starters, leavers, statutory payments and pension submissions.
• Handle RTI submissions and auto‑enrolment responsibilities.
• Set up new employers on payroll systems.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll clients, offering advice and resolving queries.
• Liaise with HMRC when required.
• Stay up‑to‑date with payroll legislation and ensure compliance across your portfolio.
• Build strong client relationships while delivering efficient payroll services.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client payrolls independently.
• Excellent communication skills for regular client and colleague interaction.
• Highly organised, proactive and committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Required skills

• Experience using payroll software.
