Business Development Associate – Acquisition Outreach

About the role

We are a specialist acquisition search firm working with private equity firms, family offices and acquisitive corporates to identify and originate high‑quality, off‑market acquisition opportunities. The Business Development Associate will focus on speaking directly with business owners and securing meetings for our Senior Directors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct structured outbound calls to owners of businesses identified as potential acquisition targets.
• Introduce our client’s acquisition interest clearly, professionally and credibly.
• Engage business owners in initial conversations around a potential acquisition and handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Overcome objections, generate interest and secure meetings between business owners and Senior Directors.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, conversations and outcomes while consistently working through targeted outreach campaigns.

• Confident and articulate on the phone, comfortable speaking directly with senior decision‑makers.
• Resilient and unfazed by rejection, with a persuasive yet non‑sales‑driven approach.
• Professional and credible when discussing potentially sensitive matters.
• Highly organised, consistent and motivated by clear targets and financial incentives.
