Business Development Executive – Shipping & Freight Forwarding

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to drive growth for our shipping and freight forwarding services. You will be responsible for expanding our customer base, promoting a full suite of logistics solutions, and achieving commercial targets within the sea‑freight sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the shipping and freight forwarding market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Promote comprehensive shipping solutions, including sea, air, and road freight, customs clearance, and warehousing.
• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and negotiate rates to secure new contracts.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Operations and Customer Service teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Conduct customer meetings, business visits and market development activities.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Shipping, Logistics or a related field.
• 5–6 years of business development or sales experience in shipping, freight forwarding or logistics.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in sea freight (mandatory).
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets and generating new revenue.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver results.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of international shipping processes and freight forwarding.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
