Business Development Lead

About the role

The Business Development Lead will drive revenue growth and deepen client engagement for a leading, award‑winning law firm. Working closely with Heads of Department, particularly Property and Private Wealth, you will identify new opportunities, nurture strategic relationships and shape the firm’s broader BD strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Heads of Department to create and execute targeted BD plans aligned with growth targets.
• Identify and pursue new business across key sectors and client groups.
• Generate revenue through networks, referrals and proactive outreach.
• Lead client and referrer meetings, supporting fee earners in converting opportunities.
• Analyse BD performance data, maintain pipeline tracking and CRM data (HubSpot).
• Research and recommend strategic events and networking opportunities.
• Support pitches, proposals and BD materials; collaborate with Marketing on brand positioning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years successful business development experience in a law firm or comparable professional services environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable in a target‑driven setting.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
