Business Development Manager – Building Maintenance & Rope Access

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive new revenue for a specialist access and building maintenance company operating across the UK. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, you will work from the office while travelling nationwide to meet clients and develop the sales pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities in rope access, commercial window cleaning, construction, offshore and building maintenance sectors.
• Build and nurture relationships with contractors, consultants, facilities managers and end‑users.
• Generate, qualify and manage a pipeline from initial contact through to contract award.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and networking events across the UK.
• Support tender preparation, pricing and commercial negotiations.
• Introduce and maintain CRM processes and sales reporting.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure commercial viability and successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within rope access, construction, building maintenance, facilities management, offshore or industrial services.
• Strong industry knowledge and an existing network of contacts.
• Ability to work independently, build a pipeline from scratch and meet targets.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
