Business Development Manager – Ecommerce (North)

About the role

Our client, a leading cross‑border ecommerce delivery provider, is seeking a Business Development Manager for the North region. You will drive new client acquisition and revenue growth for their ecommerce and distribution services, working closely with internal teams to deliver a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and acquire new ecommerce customers across sectors such as retail, fashion, health & beauty and consumer goods.
• Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline from prospecting through contract negotiation and closure.
• Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, presentations and commercial pitches.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms in line with pricing and margin expectations.
• Achieve and exceed revenue and new‑business targets.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with new and existing strategic accounts.
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities and conduct regular client reviews.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to inform strategy.
• Provide regular reporting and forecasting to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within ecommerce, distribution or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or surpassing sales targets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams (operations, marketing, IT, finance).
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment.

What we offer

• Base salary between £50,000 and £75,000 depending on experience.
• £5,000 car allowance.
• Commission structure with OTE up to £100,000+.
