Business Development Manager – Education Sector

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Higher and Further Education sectors for Artic Building Services Ltd. Based at our Dartford head office, you will lead the acquisition of new hard facilities‑management contracts and expand our client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities within hard FM for education and healthcare clients.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Design and execute business development plans to meet revenue targets.
• Conduct market research to monitor trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with Tender & Bid, Marketing and Technical teams to produce compelling proposals and bids.
• Manage the sales pipeline in Pipedrive CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting and KPI tracking.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience in the UK hard facilities‑management sector.
• Proven ability to close contracts valued up to £200 k.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical and mechanical services within FM.
• Experience with public and private tender processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Pipedrive CRM (or similar sales platform).
• Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Tender preparation and submission.
• Basic digital‑marketing tools (SEO, SEM, social‑media advertising).
