Business Development Manager – Fire Safety & Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business across the UK built environment, focusing on fire safety and construction compliance. You will work with architects, specifiers, contractors, housebuilders and housing associations, whether or not you come from a fire‑safety background.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted territory and key‑account plan.
• Identify, approach and convert new prospective customers.
• Build senior relationships across the construction and specification market.
• Generate opportunities through proactive business development and discovery.
• Work with technical teams to create tailored solutions and commercial proposals.
• Manage multiple stakeholders throughout the sales cycle and negotiate profitable contracts.
• Maintain accurate CRM reporting, forecasting and a sustainable sales pipeline.

Required profile

• Proven track record of winning new business in architecture, specification or construction product sales.
• Experience selling to architects, specifiers, contractors, developers or housing associations.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and pricing awareness.
• Ability to influence projects and multiple decision‑makers.
• Proactive approach to building and managing a sales pipeline.
