Business Development Manager – Fresh Food & Sustainable Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth across the fresh and chilled food supply chain. You will represent a pioneering logistics company that operates the UK’s first fully electric haulage fleet, helping food producers reduce their carbon footprint while delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and win new business with food manufacturers, growers, wholesalers and suppliers to major UK supermarkets.
• Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels, from transport managers to commercial directors and board members.
• Present a value proposition that combines operational excellence with a market‑leading sustainability agenda.
• Maintain and expand existing networks within the fresh produce and refrigerated transport sectors.

Required profile

• Proven track record of winning new business in food logistics, refrigerated transport or related supply‑chain sectors.
• Strong knowledge of supplying into major UK supermarkets and food retailers.
• Existing relationships within food manufacturing, fresh produce and retail supply chains.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and close deals with senior decision‑makers.
• Consultative sales approach with a passion for sustainability.
