Business Development Manager – Haulage & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join a specialist haulage and logistics company operating across the UK. The role is primarily home‑based, with regular visits to customers and one day per week in the Burton‑upon‑Trent office. You will be responsible for generating new business in the first year and then maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new customers within the domestic road haulage market.
• Develop and manage a sales pipeline, setting your own diary and travel schedule.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts, focusing on automotive and chemical haulage sectors.
• Collaborate with the UK Director and the small sales team to achieve revenue targets.
• Occasionally attend brief meetings at the European headquarters.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling in the domestic road haulage or logistics market.
• Excellent communication skills and a self‑motivated attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, travel‑heavy schedule.
