Business Development Manager – Insurance

About the role

We are supporting a growing insurance services organisation that is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to expand its commercial footprint across the UK. The role is home‑based with regular travel to meet brokers, insurers and strategic partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities across the UK insurance market.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers, MGAs and other strategic partners.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of accounts, identifying further revenue potential.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing client service.
• Attend industry events, networking functions and client meetings to promote the business.
• Maintain a healthy pipeline and meet agreed growth targets.
• Provide market insight and feedback to support wider commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the insurance market, preferably in business development or account management.
• Knowledge of the legal expenses market (motor, household, commercial, landlord).
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business and nurture long‑term client relationships.
• Strong understanding of insurance distribution channels and intermediary relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑motivated, commercially focused and able to work autonomously.
