Business Development Manager

About the role

This position is with a top‑50 UK law firm that is redesigning its Business Development function. The role offers genuine flexibility and focuses on output rather than presenteeism, supporting the firm’s growth across key practice areas such as Tax, Disputes and White‑Collar Crime.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the firm’s priority sectors.
• Identify and nurture client relationships to generate new revenue streams.
• Collaborate with practice groups to create tailored market approaches.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Contribute to the ongoing restructuring of the BD team, ensuring a modern, flexible working model.

Required profile

• Proven experience at Business Development Manager or Senior BDM level, preferably within professional services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering measurable results.
• Ability to thrive in a flexible, output‑focused environment.
• Interest in working within a law firm undergoing transformation.
