Business Development Manager

About the role

This field‑based Business Development Manager position supports a growing family‑owned recycling business in the Leeds area. You will be responsible for generating new business, nurturing long‑term customer relationships, and contributing to the company’s continued expansion. Occasional visits to the head office for meetings and training are required.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, door‑to‑door prospecting, networking and other lead‑generation activities.
• Build, manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using a bespoke CRM system.
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal departments, ensuring excellent service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and keep the CRM system up to date.
• Support the Sales Manager and colleagues with additional sales‑related tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Previous B2B sales experience with a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Resilient, self‑motivated and comfortable with prospecting and handling rejection.
• Confident communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Social‑media savvy and able to engage prospects online.
• Independent worker who also contributes positively to a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
