Business Development Manager

About the role

AWD online is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the creation of strategic business cases that improve financial sustainability and expand housing support services. This 6‑month fixed‑term role is hybrid, combining office work in Ealing, remote days and field visits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive business cases, including scope, financial modelling, risk analysis and delivery options.
• Analyse service performance, financial data, customer needs and market gaps to inform strategic recommendations.
• Research and assess external funding opportunities such as local authority contracts, health partner grants and government programmes.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based reports and recommendations for senior leadership and board decision‑making.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking and horizon scanning to identify sector trends and best practices.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to co‑design practical service solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, service development, commercial management or strategic project management.
• Strong ability to translate data insights into actionable business cases.
• Experience working with public sector partners, housing support services or similar sectors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
