Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join a respected professional services firm in Canterbury. The role focuses on generating new client opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and supporting the firm’s long‑term growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive business development initiatives to generate new opportunities.
• Build relationships with business owners, decision‑makers and professional introducers.
• Identify prospective clients through research, networking and targeted outreach.
• Manage a robust pipeline using the firm’s CRM system and arrange meetings for Partners.
• Attend networking events, seminars and business functions to raise the firm’s profile.
• Collaborate with Partners and the Marketing team on campaigns, events and client engagement activities.
• Monitor market activity, competitors and emerging opportunities across Kent and the South East.

Required profile

• Previous business development experience within an accountancy practice, legal firm or similar professional services organisation.
• Proven track record of achieving business development or sales targets.
• Strong communication and networking skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, commercially focused and able to work independently.
