Business Development Manager

About the role

Mackie Myers is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across its events, security, traffic management and operational services divisions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will shape and execute the company’s business development strategy, build a robust pipeline of prospects and secure high‑value contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with growth objectives.
• Identify, pursue and secure new market opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams.
• Lead the preparation and submission of complex bids, tenders and proposals.
• Manage contract renewals and support client‑retention initiatives.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic planning, forecasting and budget management.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small high‑performing team.
• Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior business development, commercial or sales leadership role.
• Strong track record of winning new business and delivering revenue growth.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with clients, stakeholders and partners.
• Ability to analyse market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development and performance.
