Business Development Manager – Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to expand our client base and forge lasting commercial partnerships for a fast‑growing logistics provider. Based in Folkestone, you will promote a full suite of transport and supply‑chain solutions, from road and sea to air and warehousing.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across all logistics services.
• Generate sales leads through networking, referrals, prospecting and client meetings.
• Design tailored logistics solutions that meet individual customer requirements.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with new and existing clients.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure first‑class service from enquiry to delivery.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support growth.
• Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial agreements and maximise profitability.
• Visit customers and prospects regularly to strengthen relationships and uncover further opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven sales or business development experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Track record of winning new business in air, sea or road freight.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and target‑driven.
• Good understanding of UK and international transport and supply‑chain solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage own workload while working collaboratively within a team.
