Business Development Manager - Middlesbrough/Oxford

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive commercial growth for a specialist precious‑metals recovery business. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will lead the full sales cycle across the mining sector, building long‑term client relationships and representing the company at international industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, engage and win new mining clients, expanding the company’s market presence.
• Manage a pipeline of high‑value, complex opportunities from prospecting through to contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored proposals and commercially compelling solutions.
• Maintain and grow relationships with senior stakeholders and key accounts.
• Contribute to commercial strategy and act as deputy to the CCO on strategic initiatives.
• Represent the business at international conferences and trade shows.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of B2B business development experience, preferably within mining, metals, waste processing or related sectors.
• Proven track record of closing complex, high‑value deals.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior leadership.
