Business Development Manager – North Devon

About the role

Our client, an expanding business in North Devon, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth. The role combines strategic prospecting with hands‑on sales, working both from the office and in the field to build lasting relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target new business opportunities through proactive outreach and market research.
• Build relationships with key decision‑makers and convert leads into long‑term clients.
• Prepare and present tailored proposals and quotations that meet customer requirements.
• Oversee the onboarding of new accounts and ensure strong early‑stage development.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.
• Support product promotion initiatives across multi‑media channels.
• Manage and track pipeline activity, providing accurate forecasts.
• Conduct regular client visits to strengthen engagement and drive revenue.

Required profile

• Proven success in a B2B sales or business development role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities with a consultative approach.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
