Business Development Manager – Retail Growth (UK)

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to accelerate retail growth across the UK. You will be the front‑line champion for our premium food and gifting range, building new accounts and nurturing existing relationships in a variety of retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and win new retail accounts across garden centres, farm shops, delis, cafés, gift shops, convenience chains and online retailers.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, converting opportunities into revenue.
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular visits and account planning.
• Negotiate product listings, promotional activities and distribution agreements.
• Collaborate with marketing to maximise in‑store, seasonal and gifting opportunities.
• Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions and industry events.
• Deliver against agreed sales targets and growth objectives.

Required profile

• Proven success in FMCG sales or business development, preferably within food and drink.
• Strong network of contacts in UK independent retail and regional chains.
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business quickly and meet targets.
• Resilient, proactive and target‑driven with a new‑business mindset.
• Excellent negotiation, relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, highly organised and accountable for results.
