Business Development Manager – Technical Sales

About the role

As a Business Development Manager for a leading industrial consumables manufacturer, you will be based in the North of England and drive growth through a technical sales approach. You will build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors and key stakeholders across sectors such as automotive and aerospace.

Key responsibilities

• Split focus 50/50 between direct OEM end‑users and distribution partners.
• Manage a mix of new business and existing accounts (approximately 70% new, 30% existing), re‑engaging lapsed customers.
• Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.
• Achieve £1 million in annual revenue through new and developing opportunities.

Required profile

• Technical sales background in industrial consumables or components.
• Proven experience managing a territory remotely, preferably from a home‑based office.
• Ability to build visibility and presence with customers, solving problems and offering solutions.

Required skills
