Business Development Manager – Transport (12‑month contract)

About the role

CMA CGM is seeking a Business Development Manager – Intermodal to drive commercial growth of its Deep Sea Inland Carrier Haulage product across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the ILS General Manager, the role will serve as the primary contact for senior management on intermodal commercial matters and will help shape the company’s inland transport offering.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively engage with commercial teams and customers to identify intermodal requirements and match them with the ILS UK&I product portfolio.
• Design and implement customer‑specific intermodal setups and propose operational or commercial improvements.
• Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders such as customers, hauliers, depot operators and ports.
• Act as the main liaison for senior management in the UK&I, European region and head office on intermodal commercial issues, reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Ensure inland pricing strategy aligns with market conditions and update Group tariffs quarterly.
• Provide daily inland haulage quotes as required.
• Champion continuous improvement by reviewing processes and recommending best‑practice changes.
• Promote ILS UK & Ireland products internally and deputise for other ILS management team members when needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience within the transport and logistics industry.
