Business Development Officer – Apprenticeships (Temp‑to‑Perm)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Officer to lead our Apprenticeships team at an established college in East London. This position starts as a temporary role with the potential to become permanent, offering a dynamic environment where you will drive new apprenticeship business across key sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in digital, health, life sciences, professional services, construction and engineering.
• Achieve monthly apprenticeship start targets and manage a robust sales pipeline.
• Design and deliver targeted campaigns, collaborating with internal stakeholders to generate leads.
• Advise employers on apprenticeship benefits, levy implications and funding compliance.
• Build relationships with sector bodies to raise the college’s brand awareness.
• Prepare customised business proposals and training plans with the delivery team.
• Conduct health and safety assessments at employer sites and support account management.

Required profile

• Proven business development experience, preferably within education or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the apprenticeship framework and funding rules.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS clearance will be required.
