Business Development Specialist – Finance & Restructuring

About the role

The Global Finance & Restructuring practice of a leading international law firm is looking for a Business Development Specialist to help drive growth across leveraged finance, private credit, capital markets and restructuring. You will work closely with BD, marketing and communications teams to create and execute strategic campaigns that support client acquisition and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of BD strategies for leveraged finance, private credit, capital markets and restructuring.
• Prepare high‑quality pitches, proposals and client‑facing materials.
• Maintain deal tracking systems, gather client intelligence and conduct market research.
• Coordinate league‑table submissions, thought‑leadership pieces and other knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of events, sponsorships and client‑engagement activities.
• Collaborate with global BD, marketing and communications colleagues to ensure consistent messaging.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of business development experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of finance and restructuring markets, with exposure to leveraged finance preferred.
• Excellent research, analytical and written communication abilities.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience preparing pitches, proposals and client presentations.
• Proficiency in market research and competitive intelligence gathering.
• Familiarity with league‑table coordination and thought‑leadership development.
