Business Development Team Manager – SDR Lead

About the role

Goodlord is building the gold‑standard platform for renting and needs a Business Development Team Manager to launch its Sales Development function. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will create a brand‑new SDR team from scratch, working in a hybrid model (three days in office, two days remote) across our London, Sheffield or Lincoln hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the SDR strategy, playbook, processes and tooling.
• Recruit, coach and mentor an early‑careers sales team, turning graduates and students into high‑performing SDRs.
• Experiment with automation and AI tools to improve outreach efficiency and pipeline generation.
• Balance outbound motions for Enterprise and Mid‑Market segments, defining best practices for each.
• Lead by example, demonstrating successful sales conversations and supporting the team’s development.

Required profile

• Proven experience coaching and developing inexperienced hires in a B2B SaaS sales environment.
• Significant background as a Senior SDR, Team Lead or Player‑Coach within a SaaS company.
• Builder mindset – comfortable with ambiguity and eager to create order, strategy and playbooks.
• Hands‑on leadership style; not a quota‑carrying manager but willing to roll up sleeves.

Required skills

• Salesforce or HubSpot CRM proficiency.
• Outreach or Salesloft experience.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven sales automation tools.
