Business Immigration Solicitor

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier law firm recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers, is seeking an experienced Business Immigration Solicitor to join its Birmingham office. The role involves providing specialist advice to corporate clients and high‑net‑worth individuals on a full range of UK immigration matters.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Department Director and manage a diverse caseload of business immigration matters.
• Supervise and mentor trainee solicitors and caseworkers, ensuring appropriate case allocation and quality standards.
• Provide expert legal advice on sponsorship licences, skilled worker visas, graduate visas, global talent visas, scale‑up worker visas, innovator founder visas, and related compliance issues.
• Represent clients in negotiations, hearings and appeals before immigration tribunals and courts.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a solid background in business immigration law.
• Proven experience handling complex immigration applications and appeals.
• Ability to manage and supervise junior team members.
• Strong client‑facing skills and commercial awareness.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK immigration legislation, including the Points‑Based System.
• Experience with sponsorship licence applications and immigration compliance.
• Familiarity with a wide range of visa categories (skilled worker, graduate, global talent, scale‑up, innovator founder, etc.).
