Business Services Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Business Services Senior Accountant to join a growing chartered‑accountants firm in Yeovil. The role involves delivering year‑end accounts, tax and VAT services for a diverse client base while supporting the development of the wider team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review year‑end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and larger SMEs.
• Calculate and submit corporation tax, VAT returns and related compliance work.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information, answer queries and provide advisory support.
• Mentor, coach and help develop junior members of the Business Services team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery and internal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, AAT) or equivalent experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience delivering year‑end accounts, tax and VAT for a range of client types.
• Demonstrated ability to work at a senior level and take on mentorship responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and client‑focused attitude.
