Business Studies & Economics Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Business Studies and Economics Teacher to join a vibrant independent school in Brighton. The role can be taken on either part‑time (0.8 FTE, Monday‑Thursday) or full‑time, commencing on 21 August 2026. You will work in a diverse, internationally‑focused environment that values personalised learning and high academic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies and Economics to Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students (GCSE & A‑Level).
• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons that develop students’ understanding of business concepts, economic principles and global markets.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the Business Studies and Economics curriculum.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and support learners to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Participate in wider school life, including extracurricular activities and pastoral duties.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Business Studies and/or Economics at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the specialism.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching and continuous professional development.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to support students from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
