About the role
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is the UK’s largest government department, delivering essential public services. Within DWP, the People and Place Group supports senior leadership in People Services and Resourcing. The Business Support Diary Manager provides high‑quality administrative and organisational support to senior leaders, ensuring efficient coordination of diaries, meetings and related logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Manage complex, high‑volume diaries for two Deputy Directors and the Business Support Manager, balancing competing demands and priorities.
- Coordinate leadership meetings, events and travel arrangements, preparing briefing materials and meeting packs.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the Business Support function.
Required profile
- Proven ability to manage complex diaries and deliver accurate administrative support in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, able to interact confidently with senior leaders.
- Sound judgement when handling confidential information and resolving scheduling conflicts.

- Microsoft Outlook for diary management.
- Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings and collaboration.
- Microsoft Excel for data handling and reporting.
- Microsoft Word for document preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and other digital scheduling tools.
