Business Systems Manager

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping IT service strategy, performance and compliance within a GxP‑regulated life‑science manufacturing environment. You will act as the primary bridge between IT and site operations, driving digital transformation and ensuring system resilience for long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead IT service and business systems strategy, performance and compliance in a regulated setting.
• Partner with site leadership to align digital capabilities with business priorities.
• Own and prioritize the digital portfolio, ensuring investments match strategic goals.
• Provide executive oversight of programmes, managing risk, governance and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure systems are validated, audit‑ready and meet regulatory requirements.
• Drive business continuity planning and proactive risk management.
• Lead vendor strategy, supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Build and develop high‑performing teams, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Align regional IT governance with global standards and support enterprise‑wide digital and smart manufacturing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading IT services and business systems in a GxP‑regulated environment.
• Track record of system validation, change control and data integrity.
• Background in digital transformation within operational or manufacturing settings.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and capability development.
• Strong vendor management and budget control experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management, bridging IT and business functions.
• Knowledge of IT service frameworks and governance (ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile).
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline; certifications beneficial.
