Business Tax Senior Manager

About the role

The Business Tax Senior Manager will lead a portfolio of corporate tax clients for a top‑30 accountancy firm in Gatwick. You will provide expert advice, ensure compliance, and help clients optimise their tax position throughout their business lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate tax compliance work, including WIP management and billing.
• Advise owners‑managers on succession planning, remuneration, capital expenditure timing and other tax‑related matters.
• Support entrepreneurial businesses on IP protection, restructurings, optimal business structures, staff incentives, international expansion and shareholder value creation.
• Provide guidance on equity incentive schemes such as EMI options.
• Network, prepare proposals and grow the corporate tax portfolio in Gatwick.
• Identify tax‑planning opportunities, risk mitigation and cross‑selling possibilities across service lines.
• Train and mentor junior members of the Business Tax team.
• Ensure adherence to the firm’s technical, ethical, risk and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant and/or CIOT‑qualified tax adviser with solid tax‑related experience.
• Strong corporate tax technical knowledge, including tax accounting.
• Understanding of tax issues affecting owners‑managers and their shareholders.
• Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes.
• Experience working with corporate and entrepreneurial clients at a senior level.
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and ability to interpret financial statements.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
