Buyer – Procurement & Category Management

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑focused Buyer to manage product sourcing, supplier relationships and category development for a broad range of non‑food disposable and packaging products. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, influencing product strategy, supporting sustainability initiatives and driving commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end procurement and sourcing across assigned product categories.
• Manage supplier communication, including pricing, product information, innovation and new product development.
• Lead sourcing and re‑sourcing projects through benchmarking, quotation analysis and product testing.
• Assist with SKU rationalisation, range optimisation and stock reviews.
• Produce and analyse product and category performance reports to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support tender activity, pricing exercises and customer proposals with accurate market and supplier data.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, sales teams, operations and procurement stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with service standards.
• Identify cost‑saving, margin improvement and product innovation opportunities.
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives through improved product and packaging solutions.

Required profile

• Previous experience in buying, procurement or category management.
• Experience in FMCG, non‑food, packaging or B2B distribution is advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
• Proactive mindset with interest in sustainability and continuous improvement.
