Buyer – Procurement Contract (7-9 months)

About the role

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its procurement and supply chain team on a 7‑9 month contract. You will support key projects in a defence and engineering environment, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and services.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions accurately and efficiently.
• Create, issue and manage purchase orders through SAP.
• Monitor supplier acknowledgements and delivery commitments.
• Resolve ordering, invoicing and delivery‑related issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams.
• Escalate commercial or contractual matters to procurement specialists.
• Support supplier performance and on‑time delivery activities.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and system data.
• Assist with spot‑buy activities, RFQs and supplier communications as required.

Required profile

• Experience in aerospace, defence, engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Previous direct buying or purchasing experience.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes.
