Buyer – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

Matchtech is a fast‑growing high‑tech manufacturer seeking a proactive Buyer to manage procurement, supplier relationships, inventory control and production planning support. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering and commercial teams to ensure material availability as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Raise purchase orders, obtain quotations and monitor delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage performance and support onboarding.
• Receive deliveries, maintain accurate inventory records and support stock control.
• Arrange shipping, returns and courier documentation.
• Support production planning by monitoring material demand and identifying supply risks.
• Help develop inventory management processes, including reorder points and minimum stock levels.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement, supplier management and inventory processes.
• Maintain purchasing, supplier and inventory documentation within the QMS.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management or production planning, or a strong aptitude to develop in these areas.
• Understanding of supply‑chain fundamentals, logistics and MRP systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, able to prioritise workload and work independently.
• Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience demonstrating strong analytical capability.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment or knowledge of ISO 13485 is advantageous.
