Buyer – Up to £35,000

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to take ownership of purchasing decisions that keep production running on schedule. You will ensure every order, supplier query and material shortage is handled with precision and structure.

Key responsibilities

• Place and manage purchase orders in line with MRP signals, production schedules and customer demand.
• Proactively chase suppliers to secure on‑time delivery and resolve order queries.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Planning, Stores and Production to resolve material shortages.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and material data within the ERP/MRP system.
• Support BOM accuracy by flagging component availability or lifecycle concerns.
• Generate purchasing and supplier performance reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Buyer or purchasing role.
• Experience in an electronics manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Confidence using ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of BOM structures or sub‑contract/EMS environment is advantageous.
• Working towards or holding a CIPS qualification is desirable.
