CAD Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CAD Design Manager to lead a talented design team within an international manufacturing business. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on design work, allowing you to shape high‑quality CAD solutions while mentoring your colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the CAD Design team.
• Manage workloads and resources to ensure on‑time, high‑standard project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement of design processes, systems and workflows.
• Produce high‑quality 2D CAD design schemes and customer presentations.
• Collaborate with customers to translate requirements into commercially viable designs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Identify project challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations and Manufacturing to ensure smooth project progression.
• Maintain accurate project and customer data in CRM systems.
• Monitor team performance, set objectives and support professional development.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
• Analyse performance data to improve efficiencies and inform business decisions.

Required profile

• Proactive leader who enjoys developing people while staying technically involved.
• Strong background in CAD design, preferably with 2D drafting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage design projects from concept to delivery.
• Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration and customer interaction.
