CAD Designer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are looking for a CAD Designer to join a fast‑growing renewable energy contractor in Orpington. The role offers a junior professional the chance to develop technical design skills on commercial solar PV and battery storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and update AutoCAD drawings for commercial solar PV and battery storage systems.
• Assist in preparing technical layouts, schematics and design documentation.
• Support the technical team by creating and revising project drawing packs.
• Maintain accurate drawing records, revisions and version control.
• Amend drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers and site teams.
• Liaise with project managers, surveyors and engineers to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure all drawings meet company standards and project requirements.
• Support site‑specific design changes and general technical coordination.

Required profile

• Previous experience using AutoCAD (essential).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Organisational ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Based in or around Orpington.

What we offer

• Salary £25,000 – £28,000 per year (depending on experience).
• Full‑time hours: Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:00.
