CAD Technician / Geospatial Technician

About the role

We are looking for a CAD Technician / Geospatial Technician to join a client delivering land, building, BIM and utility surveys for commercial, residential and infrastructure projects across the UK. The role involves converting 3D laser scan and UAV drone point‑cloud data into accurate 2D measured building and topographical plans using AutoCAD. The position is office‑based and requires the successful candidate to be within one hour of Midsomer Norton.

Key responsibilities

• Process AutoCAD plans, elevations and sections derived from point‑cloud data.
• Manage and manipulate 3D laser scan and UAV drone point‑cloud datasets.
• Collaborate with project managers to resolve technical challenges and implement amendments.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
• Support and mentor new team members.

Required profile

• Based within one hour commute of Midsomer Norton.
• Office‑based, full‑time availability.
• Ability to work independently and as the first point of contact for production issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with point‑cloud management and manipulation.
• Familiarity with 3D laser scan data.
• Knowledge of UAV drone point‑cloud processing.
