CAD/Architectural Designer – Path to Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a CAD/Architectural Designer to join our bespoke architectural metalwork team in Luton. This full‑time position offers a clear progression route towards a Project Manager role, allowing you to develop your design expertise while gaining project leadership experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke architectural metalwork products using CAD software.
• Manage designs from initial concept through to the manufacturing stage.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, fabricators and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with structural, safety and building regulations.
• Assist in preparing quotations, design proposals and maintaining accurate technical documentation.

Required profile

• Background in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, glazing or cladding.
• Previous experience as a CAD Technician or Architectural Designer.
• Motivation to transition into a Project Manager position.
• Ability to handle the full lifecycle of a project as the role evolves.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
