Care Assistant – Day Shift (Manchester)

About the role

Consula is recruiting on behalf of an established and respected care organisation for compassionate, dependable and motivated Care Assistants to join its day‑shift team in Manchester. This is an opportunity to work in a welcoming residential care setting where residents are supported to live with dignity, comfort, choice and as much independence as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care while protecting dignity, privacy and independence.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and daily living activities according to individual care plans.
• Help residents at mealtimes, encourage nutrition and hydration, and meet dietary requirements.
• Provide companionship, conversation and emotional reassurance.
• Encourage participation in activities, social occasions and daily routines.
• Observe and report changes in wellbeing, mood or needs to the senior care team.
• Maintain accurate, timely care records and hand over information clearly.
• Work alongside senior carers, nurses, managers and relatives to deliver consistent, personalised care.
• Help keep the environment clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Required profile

• Kind, reliable and genuinely interested in supporting people.
• Comfortable working as part of a team and using own initiative when appropriate.
• Experience in residential care, domiciliary care, supported living, healthcare or other people‑facing roles (not essential).
• Maturity, empathy, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
