Care Assistant – Day Shifts (24h/week)

About the role

As a Care Assistant working day shifts at St Fillans Care Home in Colchester, you will join a compassionate team that supports older residents with physical, emotional and social needs. The role offers 24 hours per week across flexible day hours, providing a rewarding environment for those who enjoy caring for people with dementia, disabilities or mental health challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals, personal hygiene and mobility.
• Complete daily documentation, including care plans, charts and record‑keeping.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote independence, choice and dignity.
• Support the team in maintaining a safe, respectful and welcoming environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a care setting (care home, home care or informal caring) is desirable.
• Kind, reliable and dedicated attitude towards older adults.
• Willingness to work day shifts, including occasional alternate weekends.
