Care Assistant – Home Care Services

About the role

The Care Assistant provides home‑care services to Mayfield Villages customers, supporting their health, wellbeing and independence. Working in the community, you will follow each client’s personal care plan and deliver compassionate, high‑quality care in line with CQC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Visit village and community customers daily to deliver personal care, including bathing, dressing and continence support.
• Assist with day‑to‑day tasks such as meal preparation, drinking, medication administration and mobility.
• Perform household duties like cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing and general cleaning.
• Support clients attending medical appointments, collecting prescriptions and providing post‑hospital care.
• Encourage independence through exercise, health‑awareness programmes and tailored activity support.
• Liaise with family members and ensure safeguarding policies are fully complied with.
• Complete electronic daily logs and follow medication instructions accurately.
• Attend mandatory training to maintain and improve care standards.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for community‑based work.
• Good written and spoken English.
• High standard of personal presentation and uniform hygiene.
• Strong knowledge of the local Watford area.
• Ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and adapt to varying client needs.

• Starting rate of £11.34‑£12.60 per hour, dependent on experience.
