Care Assistant – Island Placements (Urgent Start)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Care Assistants for urgent 3‑month placements in care homes across Scotland’s islands and coastal regions. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to live and work in some of the UK’s most scenic communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred care and support to older adults in accordance with individual care plans.
• Assist residents with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing and mobility.
• Safely administer prescribed medication and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment, including safe moving and handling and occasional lone‑working duties.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting older adults in a care setting.
• Ability to deliver personal care, safe moving and handling, and medication administration.
• Willingness to relocate or travel to island locations for the duration of the placement.
• Driving licence preferred but not essential.
• Female candidates preferred due to resident requirements (male staff may be considered in specific cases).
