Care Assistant

About the role

Thornfield Care Home, located on the scenic Jurassic Coast in Seaton, is looking for compassionate Care Assistants to join its supportive team. You will work in a vibrant environment that values both staff wellbeing and high‑quality resident care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist residents with mobility, nutrition and medication reminders.
• Support emotional wellbeing and promote social interaction.
• Follow individual care plans and report any changes in condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and colleagues.

Required profile

• A caring, respectful attitude toward residents and team members.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, positive outlook and willingness to learn.
• Availability to work alternate weekends.
• NVQ Level 2 (or willingness to work towards it) is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of personal care techniques.
• Ability to follow care plans and recognise changes in health status.
