Care Assistant – Nursing Home (Day/Night Shifts)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join a medium‑size nursing home in Southampton. The role can start immediately and offers both day and night shift options, providing essential support to residents in a person‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, promoting independence and choice.
• Support personal hygiene, toileting, continence promotion and dressing.
• Prepare and serve meals, and assist with feeding when required.
• Change beds, tidy rooms and perform light cleaning duties.
• Encourage participation in therapeutic activities and help maintain mental, physical, social and spiritual wellbeing.
• Work under the direction of a qualified nurse and follow client‑centred care plans.

Required profile

• Willingness to work day or night shifts, including bank holidays and at least three weekends per month.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred care in a homely setting.
• Ability to follow guidance from qualified nursing staff.
